🏛️ Infrastructure Boost: ₹55 Crore Released for New Anubhava Mantapa
1. Funding and Project Acceleration
Karnataka Forest and District In-charge Minister Eshwar Khandre has officially announced the release of an additional ₹55 crore for the ongoing "New Anubhava Mantapa" project in Basavakalyan, Bidar. This brings fresh momentum to the ambitious ₹762 crore project, which is already 70% complete.
The Goal: To recreate the 12th-century "Arivina Mane" or the spiritual parliament established by the social reformer Basavanna.
Timeline: Minister Khandre stated that the government is determined to complete and inaugurate the structure by Basava Jayanti 2027 (March/April).
2. Artistic and Historical Significance
The newly released funds are specifically earmarked for high-precision artistic work:
Stone Carving: 770 pillars are being intricately carved to represent the 770 Sharanas (followers) of Basavanna.
Vachana Literature: Each of these 770 pillars will feature a unique Vachana (spiritual verse) engraved in stone, preserving 12th-century wisdom for future generations.
Exhibits: A portion of the funds will go toward interior historical exhibits and a scientific concept of Ishtalinga Puja within the modern hall.
3. Global Tourism Strategy
The government’s vision is to position Basavakalyan as a Global Spiritual Tourism Hub. By integrating modern amenities with historical architecture, the project aims to attract scholars, historians, and devotees from across the world, significantly boosting the local economy and infrastructure of Bidar district.
